Meet the Team

I am the owner and operator of Back Forty Surveying & Mapping, LLC. This is a new company founded in 2023 in Ada, Oklahoma. I have 11 years of full time experience in Surveying and obtained my PLS license in August 2023. I am a second generation land surveyor in my family, following behind my dad, Dennis Hammons, who provided land surveying services for Pontotoc county and much of southern Oklahoma for over 40 years. During my 11 years I worked in Oklahoma and Texas on numerous projects ranging from construction surveying, Native American Trust surveys, flood plain studies, oil well locates, commercial developments, residential subdivisions, utility & highway staking, and thousands of Cadastral (boundary) surveys. I began going to work with my dad when I was 5 years old and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.  I wanted to stay true to my roots with my business because the back forty is more than just a phrase in a country song for me, it’s a way of life. The back forty has several definitions if you look it up, the version I have applied to life is to never stop chasing ”the back forty” dream. Once a remote and generally less desirable piece of land now has new life. To me, the back forty is about creating endless possibilities with hard work and respect, it’s who I am and I hope to display that in this business for many years to come.
